Cinque Terre means five little villages: Riomaggiore, Manorola, Vernazza, Corniglia, Montorosso al Mare.
We went to the three most popular villages which are Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, and Manorola.
We took a train from Florence (Firenze Santa Maria Novella), which only took about an hour and transferred trains at Pisa Centrale which took us straight to Monterosso al Mare and again only took about 45 minutes. It was super easy!!! We then took 5-10 minute trains from village to village.
Monterosso al Mare is the village with the best beaches. As soon as you step off the train you step out onto the most beautiful beach greeted by the sparkling blue Mediterranean sea.
Make sure to have lunch at De Eraldo for the best cheese plate!!
In Vernazza, you MUST hike from the center of Vernazza (follow the sign to Monterosso) up to the vantage point over Vernazza. It only takes about 10 minutes to hike to the top and is the most beautiful view in Cinque Terre!!! It truly is so worth the steep hike.
Enjoy the best smoothie at Lunch Box and the best gelato in Cinque Terre at Gelateria Vernazza.
Manarola is beyond beautiful and was my favorite village of the three we visited. The houses are so quaint and beautiful and the views are spectacular.
Definitely have lunch or dinner at Nessun Dorma for the most amazing sunset view, cheese plates & bruschetta!!
